Global Business Payment Account Officer The GBP Account Officer is positioned to make a significant impact by interacting with other business lines and acting as the single point of contact for corporate clients providing solutions to address their complex banking needs. With an entrepreneurial spirit, the Account Officer position is designed to provide challenging work and the opportunity to learn and apply the skills and knowledge required for a progressive career in GTB at Scotiabank. Reporting to the Director, the Account Officer is results oriented and manages a portfolio of clients. Key Accountabilities Acts as the subject matter expert by providing solutions to our high-valued corporate clients for cash management; payment services; electronic banking; treasury management; deposit, investment and liquidity management; trade finance; correspondent banking; and financial supply chain management. Works closely with and provides timely updates to client Relationship Management team including: Global Banking and Markets, Global Transaction Banking - Sales, and International Banking regarding client issues and resolutions. Develops product knowledge expertise and assist GTB Sales team in developing profitable new business by preparing client presentations and proposals addressing the client’s unique needs. Provides and maintain a high level of client satisfaction by ensuring the accurate and timely processing of client documentation and developing strategies to maintain client relationships. Identifies potential product enhancements and makes recommendations to product managers, drawing on client concerns, processes and resolutions. Supports the ongoing success of our existing clients by identifying and recommending new products to Relationship Management team Functional Competencies Results oriented with proven client sales and service experience and a passion for making a difference to our clients Demonstrated analytical skills and business acumen to conceptualize complex client banking solutions Strong verbal and written communication skills to report findings and complex solutions in a concise and comprehensive manner Attention to detail with adeptness to set priorities and meet deadlines while maintaining a high work standard Relationship management skills with the ability to influence and collaborate with partners and stakeholders across the Bank Education/ Experience Minimum 3 years of related work experience in a business function preferably within trade finance or related finance industry Completion of a Business/Master’s degree or equivalent work experience in a related discipline Fluency in Spanish is an asset.
