Description Cargill’s Agricultural Supply Chain – North America (CASC NA) connects agricultural producers to food, feed and industrial customers through a seamless supply chain. We help our customers compete in the global market and efficiently deliver products from origins to destinations through our marketing, sourcing, originating, storing, trading, consulting and processing of grain, oilseeds and crop inputs products and solutions. CASC NA business reaches across Canada, United States & Mexico with an expansive asset footprint including over 200 grain elevators, export/import facilities, oilseed crush plants, biodiesel facilities, and farm service centers.
Reporting to the Regional Agronomy Leader, you’re accountable for contributing to crop input sales by leading with knowledge to position products that proactively help our farm customers grow better crops. As part of the Farm Services Group (FSG) team, you will work directly with our farm customers to provide agronomic and crop production solutions. By providing superior technical information and knowledge, you will help our farm customers make better decisions for their business. Our agronomic knowledge will differentiate Cargill from our competitors, leading to stronger business relationships with our customers, and in turn, resulting in incremental sales and margin opportunities for Cargill. Principal Accountabilities:
40%Help existing and prospect customers to grow better crops through making sound crop production and risk management decisions by
•Focusing in these areas; crop planning, seed selection, nutrient, weed, disease, insect and harvest management
•Working with the location sales team in positioning products that proactively help our farm customers grow better crops
40% Execute on Cargill’s crop input market development plans by
•Participating in customer field meetings and cooperative product trials
•Facilitating customer agronomy events, marketing support
•Delivering Cargill’s crop planning services
•Maintaining good relationships with key crop input suppliers
10%Be the “expert” in crop production for the location team and provide crop production training to the team.
10%Provide leadership, coaching, direction and training to Agronomic Interns, working collaboratively with the sales team and other Agronomists.
•Related post-secondary education or equivalent work experience
•Minimum 1 year of field and industry experience
•Eligible for membership in the Provincial Institute of Agrologists
•CCA accreditation or willingness to challenge exams and obtain accreditation when eligible
•Excellent leadership, interpersonal, written and oral communication skills
•Technically sound agronomy knowledge
•Possess a valid Canadian Driver’s License
•Must be legally entitled to work for Cargill in Canada Preferred:
