: Course Number and Title : EAS296H1S Topics in East Asian Studies Course description : An in-depth study of Chinese, Japanese or Korean culture, history and/or literature. Content depends on the instructor. See EAS website for details. When offered, the course will have a subtitle that describes its content. Estimated course enrolment : 80 students Estimated TA support : 105 hours Class schedule : Tuesdays and Thursdays, 1 - 3 pm Sessional dates of appointment : July 1, 2019 - August 31, 2019 Salary :
Sessional Lecturer I = $8,160Sessional Lecturer I, Long Term = $8,364Sessional Lecturer II = $8,568Sessional Lecturer III = $8,772Please note that should rates stipulated in the collective agreement vary from rates stated in this posting, the rates stated in the collective agreement shall prevail. Qualifications : Completed Ph.D. with significant graduate work, and ongoing academic development in the field. Teaching experience at the university level required with evidence of superior teaching evaluations.  Description of duties : Developing a course topic, preparing the course syllabus, and delivering lectures; developing and administering grading; marking course assignments, tests, and exams; holding regular office hours. Should rates stipulated in the collective agreement vary from rates stated in this posting, the rates stated in the collective agreement shall prevail. Preference in hiring is given to qualified individuals advanced to the rank of Sessional Lecturer II or Sessional Lecturer III in accordance with Article 14:12 of the CUPE 3902 Unit 3 collective agreement.Please note: Undergraduate or graduate students and postdoctoral fellows of the University of Toronto are covered by the CUPE 3902 Unit 1 collective agreement rather than the Unit 3 collective agreement, and should not apply for positions posted under the Unit 3 collective agreement.
